Hi agian

I have rebuild my rod change 4 synchro gearbox and at first it seemed to work like new but sometimes I can't get it into first gear. This is regardless of speed, engine off/on, rpm.... It just won't go in to gear, it doesn't crunch.

Pushing it in second first sometimes helps but not always. I saw a post on another forum describing my issue but for a remote gearbox which was out by a spline. I also read that the clutch might not be fully disengaging? I set the throw stop to the spec in the book by the way but some people just remove the throwstop? I'm waiting on some other parts right now so the engine doesn't run but wanted to have some ideas of what it could be.

Rebuild was:

  • new layshaft
  • new 1st and 2nd gear
  • all new bearings
  • ultrasonically cleaned
  • center oil pickup
  • cross pin diff

Thanks

Jens

What clutch set up? And what throw stop spec in the book?

Could I have done something wrong to the selector mechanism?
