Hello all, new mini owner after years of wanting one.

Been trying to get it setup and running for an MOT attempt and this forum has been appearing in most of my searches (new to attempting fixing a car) so thought I could do worse than join.

1991, 1300cc, 276 cam, twin su are some of the specs I've managed to work out so far, black with cream roof, arches and lowered judging by the fact a standard jack wont fit underneath it.

Adam

Welcome to the forum. A fellow salopian!

Worth taking it to somewhere that can tune the carb for the MOT initially, then you can get to somewhere for a tune. The suspension cones droop over time, so it could either be on hilos, or the cones are knackered.

Welcome to the gathering. Where abouts are you based in the Shire? Maybe able to direct to friendly garages depending on location.

Its a nice area to be. I have the carbs out currently, attempting a clean up and service kit which is interesting not sure if ill change them out for something else yet.

Will look into if its drooped or hilos, thanks for the advice sounds like a sensible approach to take.

I'm in the Shrewsbury area, any fairly local friendly garage recommendations would be gratefully received as I don't know of any.

Probably a little out your way, but Albrighton garage tune carb engines. They do my MOTs.

Thanks again, that is a distance but not out of the question if I trailer the car there, will bookmark them.

You're allowed to drive it there for an MOT 👀 if you're booked in an hour prior for a tune, it doesn't really matter 😉

Thanks Adam for the offer, I will bear that in mind when I'v got a little further with it, would probably be good to have someone in the know to look it over for an opinion.
