I’ve read about it in the restoration book, however, I usually operate from the “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it” thought process.
Here’s my dilemma. This car is pretty much unmolested and lived most all of its years in the USA West Coast, ie. dry climate, and in a garage/ storage. (I do detect some clay dust from the outback..😉)
I’ve gone through her and have changed out rubbers, and tackled whatever minor surface rust which is all it had. And have re-sprayed her (don’t have a name for it yet).
She will be living in Miami Beach, FL when I complete her. So, HOT, HUMID, and SALT AIR! I’ll use a Marine Corrosion lubricant on all the electronics.
BUT this “Bermuda Triangle” process is a bit more abusive .
