Oh right - the thread's called bodges found...

Sorry.

Must be my Northampton accent.

I'm normally good at spotting a pun - especially a current pun.....

I'm sure it'll sound familar but i'm busy uncovering a fibreglass coating on all the rust in the boot floor. It looked solid until my battery box almost fell out the bottom of the car.

No where near as bad as some, but today, I discovered that the inlet and exhaust manifold where held onto cylinder head… finger tight and the previous owner used superglue to hold the cork rocker gasket to the rocker cover…………grrrrr

Didn't work on mine...... :(

Is it a thing to use sealant on a head gasket? I never have as I thought you weren't supposed to but if it's something I should do then I'm happy to be corrected

The car I have worked on with the most dodgy stuff was not a mini and the list is long.

Not on a mini but on an old Jag, how about this piece of filler removed from a wing.  This was only part of it.

This was the hole in the wing after the entire piece of filler had been removed.

I haven't got any pics but my previous Mini had quite a few bodges, ignition live bodged with stereo speaker wire, then it had a thing where whenever you chucked it around as you do with Mini's 😂 the rear end kept throwing itself out which turned out to be where somebody had snapped
one of the subframe bolts in the back of the heelboard & instead of replacing it just shoved it back in & the best one was when I stripped it down the A post strengthener panel was held on with bathroom sealer. Mini's wouldn't be Mini's if they were perfect 😂
