The current engine is a standard 1275 cooper SPI lump, which shall we say is past its best. Its been overfuelling for about a year, and despite spending the best part of a grand trying to get it to stop,im still chasing my tail, those with SPI engines can sympathise.
The plan is to fit a fast road 1330,with straight cut drop gear box,and in addition carry out the injection to carb mofifications, wiring loom e.t.c,
As im off to afghanistan in the next few weeks ill be getting the work carried out in may when i get back, but thought i would get the ball rolling, the car is going into kerems garage all tucked up nice and warm for the winter, where he is going to start on some off the wiring for me,and keep you lot updated in the process,
so piccys below show the engine and car as it is today.

I take it your car is of the age where you can tell the dvla it's a carb and not an injection anymore, and not worry about the emissions for the mot? Or do you just know the mot station owner?
I assume he's going to fit an older engine, so the car will be tested for carb emmisions instead of the injection.
Lovely car, realy looks great, and should be even better with a bit of power.
