Hi, been on here a while. This is my 3rd Mini (84 City, 72 Povo spec!), thought it was about time I put some pictures up for you all.
Quick spec:
998cc
Stg 4 head
HIF 38, drilled airbox with K&N element
8.4" drilled disc/ Greenstuff pads
Hi-lows
Revolutions & Falken tyres

Unfortunately it's MOT time  Cue pictures of rot, and in this case lumps of filler in the floor! >

This is the repair so far that I started today (in the snow! :) ), I know plating isn't the best way to do it, but it'll suffice until next summer when I can do it properly

Haven't got a clue but you always want more than you've got!!!
It needs setting up since I fit the HIF so it's a job to know how quick it is (another job on the list!)

Haven't updated this for a while, have taken it for it's first MOT, you can guess the result!

List was: 2 Track Rod Ends, Re-shim both upper ball joints, play in both radius arms, emissions, unbalanced front brakes and 2 patches of welding.

As before it's plated until the weather improves and I can do it properly. Couple of pictures,

Got a bit of paintwork to do

The initial repairs

The bits the tester found (still the original sills!)

It was due to go back tomorrow but tonight the starter has decided to seize :(
Early start for me (it's far too cold & dark now!! ;) )

EDIT: Can a mod/admin correct my title spelling please?

Small update: Managed to get it started this morning (note: unseizing a starter @ 7:30am is not fun!), took it for another test and got another fail, ball joints and radius arms still! >:( Seemed fine when I did them 1st time round (maybe because it was dark and I was cold and hungry :( )
At least it should be an easy fix, will keep you posted!

Theres nothing wrong with plating mate. If its done with the correct gauge steel and the weld is good, then plating is totally a good cure to the dreaded rust

I know but I want it done properly when the weathers better, just me being fussy to be honest but there you go

Good weekend for me both radius arms are fitted-no more play there!!!
Still can't get the ball joint to split (broke my splitter) so I'm going to have a word with my MOT tester about doing it for me, sorry for the lack of pictures but it was dark both nights when I finished :)
