I ve been working since 2002 on getting the most from my 1992 SPI (Cooper) Mini.
The 1st stage has been to fit a Stage 3 (new head, inlet/exhaust manifold, silencer, no cat) .
From 63 cv, I've dynoed it to 86cv. The curve is quite stable except for a small "hole" around 3000 rev./mn.
I'm right now in the process of improving the injection body by fitting an Emeral3d ECU, with a Jenvey singlebody throttle with 2x 380cc Pico injectors.
My goal is to:
- improve the overall injection stability (the old ECU has some trouble dealing with the stage 3 head, especially on deceleration and idle)
- Have some room for further engine improvements while still keeping an injected engine
- Be able to obtain around 100cv?
If anyone as already done this kind of job I would love to know what results were achieved.
The next step would be to go for a "big bore" engine, possibly from med-engineering, with lightened pistons/rods/crankshaft (they have quite a nice and comprehensive choice of tuned engines), and maybe to go a multipoint injection on a 7 port head (since tuning a multipoint injection on a 5 port head is quite difficult).
I'll let you know how it goes as soon as it starts running!
Cheers
