Follow on from previous thread thanks for all advice given especially shifty.

so my boot had loads of dents and bad scratches all over it didn't manage to get a picture but the pictures show the stages from bare metaling through to paint
Im not completly happy with it but its 1000 times better than it was not bad for rattle cans

I'm yet to lacquer as i know your eager for pictures so here they are

Will be updated once lacquered and fitted so check back

Doesn't look too bad, although it might want another can going over, as in some of the picks it looks a little patchy.

Looking good dude!!

If you've got some basecoat left I'd give it a couple of coats in the morning and then shoot some laqquer over it. Ideally the laqquer should be applied straight after the base coat has tacked off.

By leaving it to dry overnight dust and crap can settle in the base coat.

I wouldn't tack wipe it, the paint will still be soft and you could be causing problems!!

If you can, I'd do it all in one hit.

And I’d also wouldn’t go putting any more lacquer on it too thick to start off with, as if its still soft and you put another normal coat on it could eat into the previous layer/s and wrinkle up.

Might be better to wait for it to fully harden, light flat off and carry on.

I’ve done it in the past tho, left something a little too long, gone to recoat it and the fresh paint has eaten into the previous layer.
