Mk3/mk1 Bonnet

my mini has a mk3 type bonnet with the lip, if i bought a mk1 type bonnet without the lip, what difference would it make other than not having that bit of trim above my grill ?

the brackets to fit to the body are differnt
mark 3 are outside of the bonnet
mark 1 are inside
Mark 3 bonnet for a Van has no lip but has brackets for normal mark 3

yep, thats what im doing, apart from mines a fibreglass one, and ive already got pins fitted on the mk3 bonnet, which im changing from.

i was gonna try fit a mark 1 bonnet to my mini so i rang Minisport (i wasnt on forum at the time) and jason or somone told me that it wouldnt fit but the van bonnet would and it was £50 more!
i was like ring ring dan (mate at KAS) make me a mark 1 bonnet
idiots got me a mark 3 and didnt take the lip off

you can take the spotwelds off of the lip on a mk 3 bonnet to get the mk 1 look.
