Started to bleed the clutch today using my original master cylinder, new slave and new hose.
Pedal depresses freely but the fluid is not being pushed into the hose.
I was pushing the pedal up and down for ages but the fluid wont budge - could my master cylinder be at fault here or does it just take a long time to build pressure up? it hasnt been in use for a couple of years now.
thought id check here first before going and buying a new one

I'd say there's a fair chance the seals have gone if it's been sat. It's not much more complicated than a syringe, push on the pedal and fluid should come out.

To test it, push the pedal to the floor then block off the outlet (a crimped over bit of pipe in a union is ideal). Then let the pedal return and give it another push - it should be rock solid.

i had problems bleeding mine, with the bleed nipple open, put your finger over the hole and then get someone to pump the pedal, the pressure builds up enough to get the fluid going through, but lets enough air out to allow the fluid to flow through, worked a treat on mine, when the fluid starts to come out, bleed as usual

Is the bleed nipple open enough?
