AC?

hi, i may be taking the hornet somewhere really hot, and am wondering about ac. I understand that some export models had ac, but i cant find any data on it, nor any parts. I have installed ac before, so any parts/data is totaly welcome. thanks

This is a tricky one.

As far as I know, the post-96 distributorless engines that came with the AC is the Japanese spec engines, HOWEVER they are SPi but with distributorless ignition system and also with a side-mounted radiator.

Is your Hornet retains the side rad or the MPi front-rad? I don't know whether the MPi setup (with the front-mounted rad) will be able to run a Japanese spec AC system or not due to lack of space...

thanks, i have the front mounted rad, im running full MPI, there is a big hole where the side mounted one sat. I heard that the condenser sat in the front of the front mount, and it must be frickin tiny!

There are always other methods available.

Check out Car Builder Solutions http://www.cbsonline...lation-91-c.asp

They have air con systems, although expensive that should be posible to retro fit to a Mini.

If you want to make your own aircon system, you could probably check THIS THREAD for some ideas...
