hi there, im hoping somebody maybe able to shed some light on a slight problem that i know a few people are having now

Basically my car started jumping and stuttering up the road a few weeks ago.... i changed the dizzy cap and all was good again, 2 days later the same was happening, so i popped the dizzy cap off again and gave theterminals a quick clean and hey presto the car runs sweet again

a few of my friends cars have started doing the same now, the cap is always furred up after a few days

Have lucas changed something in there dizzy caps?????? im also running a 45d4 distributor with the petronix ignitor kit in there which has been in for 2 years and never had any problems before

Any help would be much appreciated

did you change the rotor arm too?

I know when i owned a tr7 V8, there was a guy who had similar symptoms on a brand new engine build to the point where he broke down next to me (i had a holed rad) and it wouldn't start. Changed over to my rotor, and away he went. so even if it is new, try a change anyway.
