i don´t know how is my engine, 850 or 1000, so i´m looking for the engine number. i´ve found the number H14314, but it doesn´t appear in the workshop manual numbers. i would like know if i must search in another part of the engine.

theres a step on the engine block, just above the alternator, near the cylinder head, just below and slightly to the right of no.1 sparkplug. its normally on there, but its not uncommon for them to be missing, due to machining work, etc.

yes, there i found this number H14314, but i am not able to know if this number is for an 850 or 1000 cc.
mi mini is an 850, but the guy who sold me the car told me that his parents changed the engine, he thought was an 1000cc, but he wasn´t sure, so that i´m looking for.

maybe some photos of the engine might help some of the boffins on here help identify it???
