as it says, got a small leak (spi engine), dropping oil on the street when it's been parked over night but only drops rather than cup fulls!
looks a bit like its coming from the front side of the engine, had a wee look and there is some kind of sensor/guage (well it has two wires coming from it!) that is totally covered!
I'm probably due an oil change anyway but was just wondering what this thing is, oil temp maybe? it's to the left of the dipstick as you look at the engine... would replace and reseat that at the same time or can i just tighten it up and hope for the best?!

as always, any advice is welcome!

it does sound like the oil pressure switch but normally only have 1 wire coming off them unless you have an extra warning light somewhere other then within the clocks ?

id try to tighten it up abit more to see if it needs tweaking up abit , if no remove and get some approved thread sealant ( like PTFE ) which you can wrap around the threads to stop any speeding past them but be sure to get some that wont be eaten away by the oil etc .

That is your oil pressure switch. Try sealing it as per Rented suggests, or buy a new one:

cheers for that, i'll give it a bash and then probably change it when it doesn't seal right!!
