it took me ages to figure this one out but miniforum wasnt alive then so i hope this saves you some time

you have a set of early clocks with the early rev counter!!

u need to use both connections and u basically have to connect the coil to the lead on the condensor via the rev counter, ie that lead goes from the coil, up to and thru the rev counter and back down and to the condensor lead!!

connect it any other way and it wont work!!

probably safer and easier to run 2 new wires so u dont get anything confused!!

ignore the red wire!!

put the orange and green wire of you're loom in terminal 1 in ur piture!! this is the power supply!!

the other two are signal wires!!

probably easier to use original wiring actualy despite what i last posted

the white wire with black tracer is the other wire you have in you're pic, connect that to terminal 3 in ur picture!!

you should now have no spare wires in ur cars loom

look on you're distributor!! there are 5 big leads!! leave these alone!! somewhre on it there is only 1 probably black wire coming out!! disconnect it from the wiring of the car and connect this to you're terminal 2, it needs a fair length of wire!! just follow the wiring thats already there to your dashboard!!

are you with me now??

nope!! putting in that extra wire re-connects it all back to how it should be!!

its worth bearing in mind tho that if you start getting electrical running problems and the rev counter starts bouncing all over the place!! removing you're new wire and putting the condensor back to the 1 on the loom will get you home!! all be it without a rev counter!!

there is another type of rev counter out there that only has 2 terminals for you're 2 wires!! wouldnt blame ya for wanting to keep the 1275gt clocks tho!! they are rather sexy!!

yeah wanted to keep it looking as it was if u kno what i mean, dont like the newer ones
i take it the speedo for the gt clocks is a different ratio to mine ie give out the wrong reading?

ive built them up with me old clocks so the milage is right

if u have kept you're original speedo (this is possible) then the speedo will work the same!! the old smiths clocks are great, you can chop and change them bout all day long!! the needles do come off and the facias unscrew so u mite get an accurate speedo if u use the right bits!

all i have basically done it pulled my cluster out pulled off the pcb and bulit it back up with the gt pcb and the revcounter.

just wondered if i could use the gt speedo? or is it a different ratio to my origanl one? ie read 30mph instead of 40mph? also would the petrol/temp guage give the right reading with my sensors?
