Hi,
Looking way, way into the future. I want to fit 13x7's on my project mini and have suffered some brain overload. At the moment its information overload as I get constantly side tracked on this forum
Anyway, back to my problem.
I'm looking to fit a set of 13x7 deep dish wheels and was wondering if they come in a standard offset or are there certain offsets to match certain arch kits ?
I'll get to the arch type to cover the things when the time comes, but obviously want to avoid the intrests of plod and MOT man (for protruding tyre tread) when the car is roadworthy.

Most popular wheels (superlights and all the fake copies of minilites) have a standard offset usually. Rather than picking a wheel to suit the arches people usually pick the arches to suit the wheel.

I'm looking to fit the sportspack ???? type.
The one that has a small recess at the front where the bumper locates. Am I right in thinking these are the type I think they are?
Just want to make sure they cover the tyres.

i have got 13 x 7 superlites on my mini, they are offset, and they fit perfectly with the sportspack arches! i can get some pictures if you need them?

Be careful! as although most wouldn't think it there is a slight difference across the range.
From experience, Ultralights don't have the same offset as Superlights. Also consider brake set-ups, if you plan on going Metro Turbo set-up (i.e vented) then this will push the wheels out further IIRC.

Best to look at a few people's set-ups.

my friend has got the proper factory sportspack arches, and they do over arch the back wheels a bit, these seem to push out further than his and are pretty much inline with the arch, the other thing being that you dont need wheel spacers with these, unlike the original sportspack alloys. The one problem we had with these is that a bit more of the bodywork on the front needs to be taken out to stop the wheels rubbing against the body.

Thing to remember with the arches though is that it needs to cover the tred of the wheel not to the edge of the rim!

Another thing, if your putting copies of the arches on, go for the fibre glass ones not the rubber ones! they may be a little more expensive (twice as much in some places!) but they look three times as good, and are a lot easier in comparison to fit!!
