Well spent a few hours on the car this evening.

Been polishing up the bumpers, fitted my new wipac headlights and started to swap over my mirrors for nice shiney crome ones. My hope is if i make it shiney enough people might not notice the holes.

Will post pics on friday when i finish polishing it.

If your only going to be using it for a while and then replacing the wings and a panels, why not get some filler and just fill the gaps, smooth over with wet and dry and use a can of primer, then black and then gloss?

It wouldnt take that long and would make it more presentable for the time being! Good luck

Ps - you see the O/S edge of the bonnet, mine has started to do the same. Was this a common problem?

The bonnet does that as people take the stay off the wing and put it further up the towards the scuttle to give extra room to work under the bonnet. Fiberglass removable bonnet will sort that

looking good there mate but I like the look of the wheels sticking out from the arches. Should of left it and hoped not to get pulled  can't go wrong with shiney bits. The more you put on the less holes people see. Did you get some of that autosol stuff I showed ya. Is it coming up alright?

I liked the wheels sticking out too but i did not want to risk it. Yup got some autosol today, brill stuff. The front bumper looks new.

Never thought of bodging it with filler. Don't think i've got enough time to do it now. Bit of a shame but it's not gonna fall apart.

Well after mostley successful runs to newquay and brighton, I thought it was finnaly time to give Roadie a facelift and replace his tired rusty nose.

Spent a few hours in the garage with my angle grinder.

Started off with this,

Half an hour with a screwdriver got me to this.

Posted Image

Then I got the grinder out, Its the first time i've ever done it so I took my time, After the first cut it was like this,

Posted Image

and the other side

Posted Image

then i got rid of the front panel and offered up the brace bars, this is where i finished for the evening.

So tomorrow its bolt on the brace bars properly, then get rid of the a panels and carfully get rid of whats left of the wings. I'm not looking forward to this bit as I don't want to damage the scuttle.

Right, Jobs for today,

Drill holes and bolt on brace bars.

Get rid of A panels and left over wing.

Move Vin plate from removerd inner wing to somewhere else

Relocate washer bottle.

Think i should be able to manage that all in one day. Anyone got any tips on removing the las little bet of wing from around the scuttle.

Thanks for the comments.

The brakes are really good. A lot off people have loads of bad things to say about the minisport ones for some reason. The only bad thing I can say is that they are a pig to bleed. My advice, get an eazibleed and do it a few days in a row. Its how i did mine and they have been great ever since. Plus you can fit most 10" wheels over them. :withstupid:
