Hi all,

on my project thread I put up a couple of pictures of the custom clock faces I've made and a lot
of people have PM'd me asking if I can do some for them. So I started thinking...

If I offered it as a (cheap) service how would people want them ?
As a picture you can download and print (maybe 3 or 4 standard versions) ?
As an original photoshop file you can manipulate yourself (endless possibilities) ?
As a finished article printed and posted to you (custom service for each person) ?

And for each option, what would people be happy to pay ?
Just putting out feelers....

Original post is here:

And a couple of pics:

The black version is designed to match the classic Smith's analogue clock face:

Best wishes

I have the same clocks as above - i.e. 2 piece ones, how would you make them for this type or would you only make a backing insert?

Also im hoping to have a blue light in mine so could you print on blue vinyl or similar to do that?

cheers.

how are they printed? and is the ink UV-fast? i.e. is it going to fade with time and contact to daylight?

thanks.

Developments...

I've been looking into this seriously and have a couple of final questions for would be buyers.

Stickers looked like a good idea but as they would be more or less permanent I've decided to go for top quality
"masks' that just sit seamlessly over your original clock faces. (no need to remove the original faces).

I'm thinking of offering a range of ten different designs. These will be priced at £15 (including postage) and a serious
set of idiot proof fitting instructions.

What do people think of that as a price ?
Just right - too big - too small ?

Please give all and any ideas - I'm going to go into production with these in the next
couple of weeks so all input is much appreciated.

Best wishes

as long as it includes postage that seems ok considering thats what replacement faces cost for later minis without including postage. as long as you do some retro designs with black and cream faced offerings (if that makes sense) that should keep us retro fans happy :)

That seems spot on to me, £15 for the set of three seems reasonable
