As promised a while ago ( can't find the thread now ) I said when I rebuilt my 1330 I would look at the wear on the Kent Silent Chain timing gear I was using..
This has done over 30k miles since fitted, and I must admin, apart from the makrings on the contact points of the chain on the drive dogs, I see very little wear, Infact less that I would expect on a Duplex timing gear. No stretch in the chain due to the cunstruction and hence, will be going back into the engine until it is rebuilt again...
So IMO, better than both Duplex and Belt...

Hi John,
That looks so much better than my one did after 10,000. They must have changed the material spec or the surface treatment. Seeing that I'd definitely give them another go as they are so much quieter than the duplex.
Do you run the tensioner with it?

It's made by Kent Cams and all their dealers stock it. I got one from Avonbar a few years back.
