Just had a dealing with the typical 'mini's are cheap run arounds and thats all they're good for' mechanic, who advised me to 'get rid fast' because it needs welding. Pah.

You tried HIC Miniworld insurance? Also think realistically about your annual mileage, makes a difference to your premiums!

you changing from later lights? if so yes but it is probably worth changing them anyway even if you are just changing like for like as they will only be a few quid

When I changed down I changed mine, it's good to have shiny new gaskets, no leakage from old rubbers then ;)

Good luck! Hopefully you can take the test sooner. Keep checking for cancellations! I did and ending up getting a slot for my birthday. Passed that day too! :D

Opened my drivers door to find 10mm of water in the floor pan. New windscreen seal time! at least theres no holes in the floor pan...

ive heard, if you cover the area in talc, and wait for it to rain- you can sort of 'trace' the source of the leak abit easier. Obviously if you leave it though, all the talc will be wet and you'll be none the wiser as to where its come from so you have to sit and watch.

Can't remember where I heard it but someone said to just sit in your car and have someone spray it all over with a hose aha, or .. wait till it is raining and just go sit in your car. :')
