Yeah the bolts on fixed bar in the middle seem to be too long and push the moving bar :/ you know what bolts you used?

Flashing tape is butyl (bitumen stuff) 1-2mm thick depending on your brand with aluminium stuck on one side.
It's like duct tape on steroids :p
