Community Status Updates

A gorgeous 27c sunny day here, but the Mini is nowhere near ready to cruise yet! Well...Flintstone style, maybe...

Took an unexpected basketball to the face today. Basketball 1, Nose 0.

Newton carpets just arrived, and the paint is awaiting pickup! It's coming together...

Bonnet was the last panel to strip down. It appeared to be solid...until I discovered the front lip is held on by bondo and about 2cm of metal. Numerous holes and rot. Jeez.

Mini moment: Sitting at traffic light this morning, when a van pulling a trailer goes by...with a Mini on it! Flame red/white roof, with big arches and a Canadian maple leaf on the roof! I only followed him for about 10 miles before giving up...do other people turn and follow Minis too? (please say yes)

-1C and 15cm of snow yesterday, 16c and sun today. Springtime in darkest Canada....

Mini's back on wheels for the first time in six months! Whoo hoo! Feels like all the work is finally starting to come together.

Have the big bosses coming through for a visit Wednesday and I'd rather go work on the Mini than get things ready at work. Nothing wrong with that, right?

And the winning blue is...Tahiti! Did some testing today and as much as I liked the Nordic Blue, the way Tahiti shines and lightens in the sun is the winner.

Paint samples ordered. Going to try out some different colours this weekend. Tahiti? Nordic? Paul Smith? Hmmm....

Sprayed my subframes in red pearl! Look pretty slick...

Winter could really start finishing up any time now...it's been plenty long enough.

Hmm...due for 30 to 40cm of snow and winds to 100km/h over the next 12 hours. Sounds like a Friday at home! Guess I'll have to watch the Olympic Mens Hockey Semifinal?
