Back north to Canada tomorrow!

On a vacation break from the Mini for a week. Time for some R&R to figure out how to replace my busted front subframe.

Red's in for her Safety Check (our version of a MOT). Fingers crossed...

Pretty darn happy that the digital speedo is in and working. Had a good laugh before calibrating it; I was apparently going 240km/h along my residential street!

Went for a drive in Red and passed an elderly couple walking. The guy points at me and starts saying something to his wife all animated-like, who was oblivious. I waved and honked (that Bad Boy horn carries!). He got this huge grin and waved like mad! Made his day, I think. :)

First legal drive around in a long time! Whoo! The usual pointing and grinning and so forth that you get with a Mini. :)

Wolo Bad Boy air horn is installed! Scared the dog with it already. :)

Used up ebay bucks to get a copy of The Italian Job collector's edition. Time to introduce my kid to a classic!

Speedometer is not my friend. Installed/uninstalled new cable 3 times...still won't work. I'd just leave it but need it connected and working for safety check (like an MOT).

Out for a spin tonight on the back roads just quietly. Got a big thumbs up from a big lift-kitted Chevy pickup driver with 33" mudder tires!

Found some really nice seats for Red at the junkyard! From 90s Honda Civic and in mint condition...not even a speck of rust on the bolts or frames! Cheap!

Otterbox iPhone covers rock! Have had one for about a year and screen cover has gotten scratched up. Emailed them asking if I could buy a replacement screen cover on the weekend. Fedex just showed up with a brand new case for me! Nice.

34C/93F on the thermometer today...a bit warm to be working on the Mini in the driveway!
