Well this is depressing...rolling roaded my 1275 SPi and got 48bhp with maniflow rear box and K&N element, to top it off, an ancient 1098 morris minor made 43bhp with standard inlet and exhaust and a 1.25" carb.....DAMN :(

Something not right Iain, mine which is standard got 53 last time on the rollers. No mods at all.

What could it be? It doesn't smoke at all, doesn't burn oil, doesn't drink oil or fuel. Will do a compression test later

I own two fan units. Both work when directly connected to a battery. In the car, not so much.

Great!! In a garage i used to work in, there was a shelf above a door, i used to hide a small plastic tub of water on it with a piece of rope onto the door handle... Whoever walked through the door got drowned ;)
