I have looked at them for family before, something like £1000 for a week, forget that!

i passed my test in 3weeks... that wasn't one of those quick tests either, just booked my theory and passed that, did 10lessons then booked practical boom, passed that with 4minors and was on the road in the mini an hour after! haha, cost me £180 for 10lessons and tests were about £80 i think?

The one week courses can be more expensive if you don't get the hang of it quickly. I have had 45 hours of lessons and 3 months of driving with dad for about £850

Can someone tell me what's the safest compression ratio where I don't need to use higher octane fuel, I read 10.5.1 in a haynes performance manual book?

Today fuels are so different than at the time they wrote performance books.. Higher octane is always better above 10:1, mines now at 11:1 and on 95 runs fine but not as smooth as with 100 ron.I use additives tough.

I'll aim to keep it around 10:1 I think then, just to be on the safe side.
