My mate phoned me with a Mini problem. At certain point on the wheel there seems to be something wrong, like a knocking and he can feel it through the wheel? I suggested bearing but it isn't making any noise. It isn't catching on anything either, any ideas?

lol i woke up with a black eye once where i had hit my bed side table, well least thats what i figured, someone who hated me could of punched me in the eye for a all i know but the bedside table seemed the best theory

I can't tell if my engine knocks when I change gear. Does it make some sort of knock when you lift the clutch anyway? Perhaps I am not slipping the clutch enough.

Check the engine steadys, grab hold of the engine by the rocker cover and rock it back and fourth, whilst looking for excess movement.
