1) When welding brackets in your friend's garage, do not set it on fire. 2) When you & your friend are putting it out, do not allow him to put his hand on your freshly welded bracket. Ow. He is holding an ice pack right now...

Yep, just changed the exhaust yesterday to a maniflow
Nov 20 2015 10:08 AM -

Also got a maniflow on my mini thirty. 1.75'' twin box side exit. A bit too quiet for me really, but good for motorways ect.

i did think about the twin box but decided on the single, she does sound very goo but not as loud as the ASBO fletcher I had on it! If I get my brake lights MOT next week

Imagine a world where parts for minis were reasonably priced... I mean for the price of a decent cylinder head you could buy a couple of perfectly useable cars!

-
inim_repooc
Hehe - there may have been a slight bit of sarcasm in there Steve.. Haha! General parts for minis are very reasonable although there is of course the large number of expensive goodies that we could only dream of! *drools over supercharger kit*

I'm going to be honest when I say this - the supercharging kits for the mini aren't expensive. For what they are and the power gains available i believe they are well priced. A lot is in proportion of your income, if you are on bare bones I can understand why they appear expensive.

Second hand engines are expensive!
I bought a Rover VVC engine with 70k miles for £180 last year, It'd cost you far more for a worn out 1275 in need of a rebuild!

Well if it makes you feel any better, it looks as though the piston rings on the scamp are gone too

My engine is perfectly ok. Only gets started on a weekly basis now though.

It's getting a bit breezy out there - and yet our super-awful Landlord's hnadyman-built fence remains immovable. 3-inch nails into the brickwork is clearly the way forward for sturdy construction...

Someone had spliced in a constant live where a switched should be, caused all manner of headaches until I found it.

Classic Fiat Panda 750L on Ebay. Cheap classic, and can't cost a fortune to run/buy parts for? :/

the ohv panda's timing chain
used to saw thru the timing cover ,
dump the oil every where
& blow the ends
something to look out for
if you look at the timing chain you will see the teeth
did quite a few in the 80's
OHC is better

I had a Panda as a daily back in the day, serviced it well & went all over the place in it, never let me down.
Used to have a switch that would isolate the engine & if I flicked the switch to off while driving along & then back to on it would back fire, I could almost make it back fire at will.
I keep looking at old Panda's on flea, some nice ones come up & the 4x4 ones are capable & well sought after.
Mine had some rust 20 or so years ago so dread to t...

... think what they will be like now.
I had a couple of 2CV6 back in my student days, you just had to appreciate you weren't going anywhere fast but you could have some real fun when you wound them up & particularly on roundabouts. I would't want one now though.

Car SOS was giving a car back at the Classic Car show today - I seemed to end up with the cameras pointed my way a fair bit! haha - cant wait to watch it on tv now!

-
SecretSugar
Decided against it. It was a Beetle GT and was going to buy it for £435 as it had a bit of a smash.
