    I disagree, my mini's my only car, commutes every day. Have to agree that it's a fair bit of maintenance though!

    I think that's important. If the Mini was restored to a high standard and the weekly/monthly checks are done, it will be fine.
    My problem was I didn't do part 1, the car was never decommissioned and given a full resto, so sometimes parts seem to fail in succession, making me rather disheartened.

    Does not sound good...I tend to have asbestos hands but have a crusty burn from the side of a very hot piston looking at it, the 3 stripes are from the alloy ring lands, the rings must have been a bit cooler
