my little mk 1 metro ,fitted a heater matrix init today all dash out now leaks water on the stupid pipe joint on matrix ,the gasket supplied is complete rubbish

Leaks! I can put up with most stuff, but a thimble full of coolant on the garage floor every week! And can I find where it's coming from - No!

Do you know what I did.? made a DIY resevoir and drove for a few weeks...still drops on the garage floor - just SO annoying. Replaced head gasket two months ago so obviously when re-attaching RAD, something isn't completely tight. Could you live with it.?

Did you ever fix this because I've got the same problem now. Headgasket, radiator, bottom hose and hose clips replaced and I've still got it. Grrrr.
