New game mini
Quick, non urgent question thought I'd post up here instead of starting a whole thread! Does anyone know if a mini will fail it's MOT without a binnacle cover over the clocks? The final securing hole on mine has finally split and wondering whether I need to repair?? Can't see why it would fail?

What are people doing to celebrate bonfire night this weekend? I spent this evening flying an Rc plane covered in LED's in the dark. It's sort of become a tradition in my club.

Went to an organised bonfire/firework thing with the wife and kids. We went last year and I swear it was loads better... Was a tad dissapointed, especially after paying to get in, the fireworks was supposed to be lasting around 30minutes, they didnt even make 10 minutes...

Does anyone in the Shropshire area have a brake flare tool I can borrow quickly? Got a brake pipe that needs shortening.

Took the Mini for its MOT yesterday. All went well but the biggest shock was that in the past 4 years, I've only done 630 miles.... And I've owned it nearly 10 years. Crikey!

Yes I should use it more. It's definitely not a show queen. Simple case of family life getting in the way!

Is it some new law that you now have to drive with your left hand indicator on for the next few miles? Ended up following a sign written vw transporter for 1.5 miles, then a 67 plate kia for 2.6 miles. And once that dozy driver had finally realized, the black 02 plate corsa behind it did the same for the remaining half mile before I turned off at the next roundabout.

Plot twist, you had your indicator on they where trying to prompt you to turn yours off

non-use of indicators is more common round here, and just as infuriating!

phillrulz - Would a mini indicator last being left on for the 35 miles round trip...

It would be cheaper to buy a proper mini and just sleep in that instead. It is possible. I (and probably many others on here) have done it.

It's a bit sad, but it seems as though members of our local Mini club aren't keen to meet up to chat Minis and cars :(

Try meeting at a pub or coffee shop, that normally helps us!

I've asked the group if people would be keen to meet up for coffee on Sunday, hopefully there is some interest.

Truly, you can't have the Trailer Park Boys without Jim Lahey. I only wish I could have met John Dunsworth in real life, everything I've ever read about him was that he was a terrific person.

Brake and clutch cleaner is my preferred choice. Very cheap and effective but evaporates fast so needs more application on heavier grease

id take it to a local garage, ask if you could use their solvent bath, had one back at my old job brilliant at releasing all types of grease and oil. Supposedly the one my college had contains a bacteria which destroys / uses the oil.
