I took the felt off and used stuff called vinyl fender welt 3/16" bead, it matches the vinyl pattern of the upper dash. In the US Hotrod shops sell it. If you want some I think I still have enough to do the dash I bought a 25' roll and did just my dash. Message me and I'll send a picture of what my dash looks like. I'd send you the stuff for shipping plus some cool stickers or such. It won't be used otherwise.
cheers,
George

Update on it, he has taken it up to his garage to work on, Called up there today, was pleasantly surprised to see it being worked on! the front end was off and various parts including the drive shafts on a work bench with them working on them But that's where the good bits end....... the gear box is dead so a new one is needed, I thought they had it, sadly no they dont. So now I have a wait until he finds one and it arrives. It is also going to have to go back down to the original g...

You also need to bypass the inhibitor switch. Have a search through the technical section. It has been covered several times.

Ah too much work for a simple job. Just wondering as autos seem to go for cheaper :)
