After deciding to build my van shell out of the parts off my saloon i knew that i would need to buy some stuff.
the main culprit i cant find is the Rear door lock mechinism! can you even buy them???
is there anything else that you cant buy anymore for vans?
any help would be amazing

There's probably lots you can't buy new for vans any more - the last one was made around 1981/82! You can find the part numbers for the rear door locks on the Somerford PDF catalogue which can be found here. You can then google the part number and see if it crops up anywhere else on t'interweb.

Somerford's parts catalogues are great for finding parts because even if it's not available new it is still on there, so you can find part numbers and such like to go searching with!

I had a quick look at your project thread - good luck with it - it looks like you are making good progress already!

Is the mechanism the same as Estate rear doors ?

If so I have a spare set of doors here with the mechanism.
