don't no if this is in the rite place, i did SEARCH few bits came up hope you can help me.

i have just don't a seal now going to do the rear arch at the weekend, how do i go about it? do i have to take the rear sub frame of can i do it with it on? were do i cut a and were do i weld? how hard is the job? has any one got pictures because they help so much thanks hope you lot can help me :huh:

i need to patch my rear arches too. you probably can do it with the subframe on, but if youre replacing the whole arch then its probably best you do. if you're patching, like me, then you could use a dremel type cutter to cut the old bits out and butt weld the patches.

if replacing whole arch then you should be able to see the welds when you take the old ones off, i believe theyre spot welded, and usually about one every inch.

ive only got pics of my rotten arches in place. i havent actually done the job yet.

it is a special type of drill bit that is specially designed to drill out spot welds but you have to make sure that you drill it dead in the centre or else its hard work good luck mate

r rite ok do you just use them with a normal battery drill? were can i get one and how much will it cost? as i dont have one can i still just use my angle grinder :crazy:

This is the one I've used.

There are a lot of spot welds to drill out so it is a slow and labourious job, but if you're carefull and take your time, it should go ok. Just a case of finding all the spot wlds and getting them all off!

thanks i have cut the whole arch out now so bit last but some of the arch is still there so i will get one tomorrow and try it out thanks, then i supose i can just re weld were i have driled out the spot welds, instead of seam welding?
