Ok, i thought it was about time I posted up a little bit about the life and times of the checkmate, I wont be rebuilding it or anything like that but this thread is basically going to be about general ownership and personalisation of my little black beast!

The car is a little 998cc 1990 Mini Checkmate, restored last year, I bought it April this year.

its been painted in a dashing shade of black (black) and the roof is the whitest white youll ever see (white)

Anyways, enough of the jibber jabber, here he is:

this is basically how i bought him:

then I added some cibies:

Then i added some Angel Eye headlights:

Then i added some more (bigger) cibies:

thats pretty much what he looks like now!

thats enough for now, dinner time at work is up!

feel free to ask questions / comment, will update as I go along.

connected the black wire and:

probably because of all the *rubbish* in the boot:
Posted Image cant wait to get a boot board...

took out the back seats (in the dark fubling around) ready for taking to be re-upholstered,

and found some ruddy orange stuff, looks like its only surface though, whats the best way to get rid of it? i was thinking sandpaper, zinc primer and paint with hammerite... this sound ok?

yeah dude, get some coarse sandpaper on it, sand it down as much as you can, then rust treat it, wait for it to react/dry then hammerite should be plenty good

and dude

awesome car!

thanks buddy, will do,

going have to do something about it, to the left theres a little pool of water so i wonder if its one of the window seals leaking a little,
maybe the rear one as every now after heavy rain therell be a bit of water under the 10'' in the boot...
