As by the topic. Where can I buy those chrome rims for 10" steel wheels? 12" ones seems to be bit easier to find but that doesn't help me here.
well, ok, I found one on ebay but the price they are asking is a bit salty... I'd be interested in used ones too if someone has those

Cheers

Tap this in to ebay - " MK1 MINI RARE PERIOD OUTER WHEEL TRIM SET NOS "

They are a set of 4 chrome trims for steel wheels for the older mini and are 10", or did you want the centre caps ??

Nice find Zacherius

What looks odd from the sales description is that the rims will be held in place by the hubcaps??? Shouldn't those have their own 'clip-on' mechanism that holds 'em in place?

and this is the best part:

"...that has made me decide to not to post outside the UK and secondly because a collector of the mini myself I believe that the British mini and it's components belong with us and do not wish to take part n the export of our heritage, I will not honour bids from outside the UK nor will I respond to questions from outside the UK."

nice attitude...

I didn't read the article, just found it for you ( as was looking for chrome 10" alloys for myself ).

Thats a mental attitude. I bet you the PC he used was made in Hong Kong, the furniture he has is from sweden, clothes from korea, favourite food is indian, holidays in spain, you get my point. If all the other countries never wanted to part with their items, where would we be !

I've actually bought alot of my mini parts from france and Hong Kong, and when you see the Mini Shows they put on, they make some of ours look like an accidental meeting. Hong Kong had a Mini Show last year and apparantly over 700 minis took part in a 150 mile drive with a max speed of 25 mph. Mental

I'VE ALSO FOUND FOR YOU - " MINI BRAND NEW MINT WHEEL TRIMS " , They are about £18 for a brand New set of chrome outside trims for 10" mini wheels.

are you referring to the chrome ring around the hubcaps? Or the one piece 10 inch hubcap?

well I happened to have tried both on mine, here they are..

hubcap with chrome ring outside (i.e two separate pieces)

and this is with the one piece hubcap

Looks really good

Good thing that I asked as I first though that those would look a bit different. The look I'm after I might get with these:

Idea is to have it so that the wheel should be a bit visible between the chrome rim and hub cap. With the ones above it should go like that... right?

Something like this in thread but with 10" wheels (couldn't copy the picture):

are your steels the standard width? (3.5")

I don't think you can achieve that look like in the link you posted with a 3.5" wide wheel, since the wheels in that link are 7.5" wide! I have a set of 10" steels which are 6" wide, but don't know how I would manage to fit that ring around the hubcap!

What you can do is ask the seller to measure the internal diameter of the rings he has for sale (the ones in the picture) and see if their internal diamter is greater than the hubcaps. If it is, then you should achieve the look you are after. If the internal diamter would however be the same size as the hubcap (I can get you the diameter of the standard 10 inch hubcap if you want), then you won't be able to achieve your desired look.

hope this helps

I'm going to use those with 4,5" reverse rims. I just send an email to the seller but forgot to ask about the measures and how it will be attached to the wheel. If it's by the hub cap, then my idea won't work... better to send another email. Thanks for pointing that out

I measured the picture on Ebay which comes out to a 60% hole, and a 10inch rim picture and the hubcap is 60% of the wheel width. Just a rough measurement with a ruler on a computer screen but...they do look pretty deep dished.

It would look awesome on black reverse rims

If the rings in the ebay link are as dished as they look in the pics, they would look superb on your 4.5" reverse rims, hopefully

However I don't think the ring would be able to mount to the rim without the hubcap holding it, the reason being that the edge where the ring clips is the same point where the hubcaps mount. I don't see another way which the ring could hold in place. Might be worth asking the owner of that nice mini in the link you posted, in the pic it looks like it's just a polished rim??? Might be wrong tho
