If I did see a genuine rover cooper one, i would snap it up at but for now, just need to know who's aftermarket ones are the best. Cheers

Custom Consols by far. Should find their ad in a mini mag.I am getting a new dashboard for my 1993 rover mini, just something straight forward either black or silver. The obvious choice would be a genuine rover one directly from a late cooper but I imagine they are hard to come across, also I would need to fork out more money and get a 3 clock speedo, mine is 2. Everyone seems to do dashboards but who's are the best quality and fit? Are there any to avoid as they are poor quality?

I suppose everyone has good and bad stories!! The worst one I ever fitted was 'dash of colour'. Every time you went over a bump the dash would jump its clip mech and come off whilst driving.A lot of users here don't actually rate the Custom Consoles stuff too highly.

But the reason that Equinox Styling (the old company, now named Optimise Automotive) came about is because i was disappointed with a dashboard and centre console i purchased, I had them in the Mini for about 2 months and decided to make my own, because of how they fitted. The dashboard fitting was a joke, and every time you went over a bump it shot out towards you! and the centre console meant i found it difficult to use the clutch!
One of the company's seems to have disappeared a little (the dashboard company), either that or they have merged with the other, as i know they used to have a lot to do with each other. They were just down the road from one another, and if you wanted both console and dash to match they would use the same stuff to cover them!
No idea how Custom Consoles fit the dashes though, not seen one of there new ones in the flesh, they do look nice though!

My advice is look for one that has three verticle bars with wing nuts on they seem to fit best
