i've seen it somewhere on here before, but cant find it again....
which pipes can i vent to fresh air with a small filter on??
any ideas where i can put the expansion tank for my radiator as i'm fitting a flip front so the brace bars have gone in place of it??
any other little tips for tidying the engine bay or tips on a flip front??
cheers,
Frostie

i'm only guessing it's an expansion tank by the way.....it's attached to the radiator by a pipe!

The white (expansion tank) goes to the top of the radiator.
The black one is part of the fuel system.
Hope this helps

its for when the water in your ran expands with heat and cause an overflow
where cars like mine just have a pipe that runs down the side of the radiator to dump the overflow onto the road, the expansion tank just catches that overflow (but still seems to have a pipe to dump water onto the road when that gets full

its just to help keep water in your system so that you shouldnt need to refill your radiator as often (at least thats all i can think it will do)

i was just askin where i could put it because i've had to move it because of the brace bars!!
so, can i just get rid of it and have just the pipe left for the overflow?? or does the system need to be pressurised and thats what the tank does??

yes expansion tank does catch water that has expanded in heat, but it also works the opposite way. When your engine cools down the water will be pulled back into your rad. This means less water is dumped and therefore you don't have to refill your rad so muchThe expansion tank (white one) has nothing to do with the fuel system
