Hi all,

am thinking about fitting a K&N air filter on my 1992 Rover Cooper 1.3i. Has anyone tried it? Was there a significant improvement in fuel economy, response, etc?

Feedback appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks. Was it a breeze to be installed as was claimed so on the website?

Reason i'm asking is because i've only replaced an alternator ... never done anything else on my mini before.

Air filter is probably the easiest thing you can do - unscrew the two wingnuts on top of the air box, take off the cover, replace the element, screw it back up.

Got one on mine, works well but does work loose, so I put a sponge on the inside of bonnet to hold it in place.

I’m told just replacing the original element with K&N element & drilling holes in air box is better.

There is a good thread on here about it…….somewhere!!!!

Thanks for the replies

my engine bay actually looks pretty jammed up, not sure if there's space? Anyone knows what a JCW includes? My mini is fitted with it supposedly. I know it stands for John Cooper Works ... but exactly whats in the kit?
