Good for you! you should dress however you like! I got told off at my last work when I came into work with bright purple hair.. I also had laces in my work boots with pandas on them.. that wasn't popular either.

To be honest i think if they're employing you, then you follow the rules.

In their eyes why pay somebody to spoil the company image. In alot of jobs you want to look approachable not like a 'blood sucking' eccentric.

Simply wear something smart and 'normal' for the interview then once you've got the job then enquire about dying your hair pink (or whatever other colour takes your fancy) and tatoos/piercings etc

Dunno what the shoes they objected to were, but it could just be a safety thing: trainers are hardly executive fashion.

Become an engineer, nobody seems to care that much what you look like...

JuJu, my young Emily has shoes comparable to those, but they don't let her wear them to work either, (WHSmiths), ah well...

Exactamundo Becmeister  . In the Sixties, Momma Juju used to wear hotpants & platform boots under her whitecoat doing her rounds at the hostible. In the Noughties, nothing much seems to have changed. :w00t:
