Yet another problem I have with my N95, this is getting pathetic now.

I had a song (saved on my memory card) as my clock alarm tone.

I want to change it.

When I go into the Clock menu and the Alarm tab, and go to change the tone, the only options I have are "Download Sounds" "Default Tone" and "Off".

There isn't an option to search for a music file to use as the alarm tone.

When I go via the Tools, Personalisation, Tones menu and go down to Alarm Tone, it gives the the same options.

When I find them music file I want as my alarm tone, there's no option in the menu to choose it as the alarm tone.

But I MUST have had that option before.. otherwise how would I have had MEGADETH as my alarm tone for weeks, because I didn't download it.

Can someone PLEASE help me before I throw the useless piece of banana against the wall.

Cheers!

On mine, if you go to Alarm Tone it comes up with downloaded tones, default tone, and then a list of all my music and the default ring tones. Not much help though.

Never looked at this on mine untill now, but like Neon i have an option to download, the default tone my music and a list of all the default message/ring tones. Was gonna say do they have to be saved on your phone memory to appear on the list, but you say your current one is on your memory card, so i have no idea, not much use,.. sorry :-

If you had read the original post you'd have noticed I tried that.

I've since found out that it's a bug with the software if you have too many music tracks on the memory card (I have over 800 now). They play fine in music player but for some reason this happens.

The fix for it is I've had to install the phone onto my PC (which I previously didnt need to do) and then move the file I wanted from the memory card onto the phone memory itself, and then remove the memory card, and set the alarm tone as normal but that file comes up in the list :- seems like a lot of peeing about to me, but thats what you need to do anyway in case anyone else gets the same problem.
