Water Leak

Whenever it rains, I get water leaking from under dashboard (mainly down the wheel arch side) which results in almost contiuous damp carpets. My mini has a retractable sunroof and I have replaced the plastic drain paipes which run internally down the window/door post and drain under the car, also replaced the door seals but to no avail. Can anyone recommend a good specialist mini garage that might fix this for me. I live in Bishops Stortford so anywhere in Essex/Herts would be good - otherwise will travel if necessary. I saw a website for Mini-Classics in Blyth and they looked helpful - can anyone recommend them?
Thanks
Dave

90% of the time its the window seal thats leaking then tracking down behind the dash and creating a nice swimming pool effect in the footwells.
Its really easy to fix, just get on any mini specialist website and get yourself a new window seal, locking strip(the silver strip) and buy or borrow a small window fitting tool.
You will have the old window and seal out within 10 minutes just remove the silver locking strip and the windscreen will just pop out. Then check around the frame for any rusty bits. Clean it all up then fit the new seal, window and locking strip, the fitting tool and some lubricant come in handy here.
Some people like to fit the seal with waterproof sealant like the stuff you use around your bath but personally I've never used anything and never had a problem.
Just one more piont, there seem to be two different widths on the market at the moment I would always go for the thicker/wider seal, its always worked for me.
Dont pay good money to a garage for a job that will only take you an afternoon at most to do.
Have fun

When this happened to me it turned out to be water getting in at the drivers side top corner of the bonnet. I poured a glass of water over the top corner and it leaked down into the engine bay and then through into the drivers foot well. Without the carpets in it was possible to see the water appearing in the footwell. Fixing it was simply a case of plugging the hole. No problems since.
Hope this helps.
