I go down a back road to get home past an industrial estate and as I stopped on a hill, she died again and this time, refused to fire up. So a bunch of lads in a van kindly helped me push her up the hill and into a lay by. There I waited for my other half to turn up with some tools. Popped open the fuel pump and it was full of nasty deposits and so was the carb, bummer.
We got some of it out and drove her home. So now I have to go back to the garage and clean her carb and stick a fuel filter on.
Has anybody else had problems with deposits?
Oh the joys of Mini ownership!!

We went on a road trip in Wales and unfortunately Reggie had a huge blockage in the carb - Just bits of dirt/rust kicked up from the bottom of the fuel tank.
We got him home and put an in-line fuel filter on him - Haven't had any problems since then!

I had a very similar problem but i had got dirt in the float chamber and it was causing the overflow to constantly let out fuel while the engine was running. Again I cleaned it off and put an in-line filter on the fuel line and it's been fine since
Did you find she was using more fuel than usual??
Minx is going through a fair amount of fuel atm.

yeah it was, it didn't help as at the time my tank sender was knackered! but it was basically puttin too much fuel in to the carb then spitting it out again all the time the engine was running
