I am probably wrong, but. I'm sure they binned that idea years ago.
About the same time as riding a larger motorbike if you had a side car fitted.

I sugerst you visit the R3W web forum at:

http://www.r3w.co.uk/forum/

They have a wealth of information about the law regards to driving 3 wheelers at 16.
They are a very helpfull and knowledgable bunch of guys who will give you loads of information about your Reliant Robin, I've been a member of the forum for 5 years as I have a Scimitar SS1.

Sadly though, the insurance will be far higher than a standard 'metal' four wheeled car.... You really get stung for insurance with Reliants, my very first car was supposed to be a Reliant Kitten - 4 wheels, (but brother blew it up before it got to me! haha). I think at your age it might be a ridiculous premium....

Good luck!

Can't really agree, check out the forum as I sugested; they have some good links with insurers and you will get by far the best advice about 3 wheelers; as you do on this forum about Minis.

Just going from personal experince over the years.... all of my brothers have had various Reliants and standard insurance companies DO load your premium for a fibreglass shell. There are obviously specialist insurers out there, as there are for minis, but best to be prepared :D

You need a FULL Uk driving license to drive a 3 wheeler car. That means 17 and passing your driving test.

Sorry for the bad news.

To quote from this website

http://www.3wheelers.com/lawuk.html

"At 16 years old a person can drive a 3-wheeler that is powered by an engine no greater than 50cc. You have to be 17 or over to drive a larger 3-wheeler like the Reliant Robin. (750cc - 850cc)"

Only choice at 16 is something like this (if you dont want a tractor)

Piaggo Ape 3 wheeler 50cc van

If I remember rightly you had to have a full motorcycle licence to drive a pig with a blocked reverse.
