Im having trouble trying to identify a set of pistons which im planning to use in an engine build for a friend of mine.
He has supplied the pistons pre-fitted to the con-rods. At first glance they looked like 1380 pistons but wont fit into a 1380 block i have prepped (offset bored and honed) , yet the top of the piston when turned upside down will slide into the bore.

I took several measurements took with a digital vernier and pictures of the piston and was wondering if people could help me out as to what size the block should be, and what the pistons are out of.

Ring size (starting with top one)
0.060"
0.074"
Oil Ring
0.150"

Piston diameter (TOP + BOTTOM)
2.890"
2.900"

Pin to Piston Crown
1.090"

Top Ring to Crown
0.276"

Here are some of the pictures i took of the pistons, they are flat top's and stamped on the top is the markings 'STD', 'ID10', 'R21' and a letter 'Z'
On the inside of the piston there is the AE logo and 'C89' and the number '413'

Can't comment on what the pistons are, but I'd be a little concerned about the lack of length in the gudeon pin, there seems to be VERY little overlap between the actual piston and pin....

Where do you mean exactly guessworks?Do you mean the height from the pin to the top of the piston is very small?

no the pin which goes through the conrod, and locates the piston....

My suggestions would have been they are ford cvh pistons (74mm) but the ring sizes are wrong...
