Halfords have got some savings going down and Im wanting to get a tool chest but I dont know if they're good quaility or not. I've had a little play with the Industrial range and they seem decent enough but those are abit out of my budget.

So is their Professional any good? Was kinda tempted by these: 3 draw chest and 9 draw cabinet.

What are they bearings like on the draws? Are the draws flimsy? Is there much side movement when the draws are out?

Anything else I should consider?

Have you looked at Teng Tools, not sure what website but google should sort something out. I think they put lifetime guarantees on most (if not all) of their stuff and it seems good quality

Cheers
Chris

They are much like the clarke ones to be honest, and they are good quality..
Most cabinets with ball-bearing draws are great!

My dads got the clarke one and my mates got one of the bigger Halfords cabinets, the draws are just as good and they arn't flimsy, jast make sure you dont overload them or you'll be putting stress on the bearings

I was looking at these in my local Halfords the other day.

Look like reasonable quality to me, to be honest a tool box is a tool box. For 99% of people a Snap On, Beta, Teng or whatever is overkill IMO.

Depends what your doing with it...... as a mech myself go for the best you can afford..... either the Halfords pro or Clarke Pro range with ball bearings are the best for budget....

Agree with Matt, a tool box is a tool box and also the tools have life time guarantee so if you break it, you get a new one :(

I have used Halfords profesional tools for 8 years and only ever broken one socket, and that was becasue I wasn't using it in a recomended way =]

And were not talking light weight car repair here, I use them on HGV/PSV's

I have seen more broken Snap-on tools at work then any other brand, just because there expensive doesn't mean there the best

Got meself one today and its pretty good. I just didnt want something that would break if I accidently knocked it a couple of times.

I saw that 150 piece tool set in the paper and thats what got me looking on thier site. Order online and you get another 10% off. Ends tomorrow though!

Also once upon a time I bought a Challenge tool box from Argos and that was *rubbish*, I didnt want to end up with anotherone of those.
