Rover Mini Cooper Sport 1.3i

Steering column lowering bracket from W&P shown Here.
Basically I've slackened off the U-bolts, undone all the brackets and I'm in the process of fitting the new column drop bracket but it's an absolute nightmare! It's impossible to get it to all line up and the plate the bolts screw into just jumps up and moves about every time you do get it straight.
This is more of a moan than anything but has anyone else done the conversion? W&P didn't send any instructions either so it's all guesswork as well.
Any help or tips as it's winding me up big time!

Yeh, it's a sod of a job, I did mine earlier this year. What you need to do is use a small crosshead screw driver to push up through the bracket hole and aligne the tapped plate behind the dash rail, then hold it tight and get a socket on one of the bolts and offer it up on a 1/4" extension bar with screw driver type handle grip. Get it started and then do the other one but leave them loose while you get the nip bolt in, then make sure it's all aligned and tighten them up.
I ended up loosing some of the washers behind the dash rail and had to find replacements, the old ones slide across the rail everytime I take a corner tight but can I hell as find them????
You will drop the bolt and lose the nut several times but just keep at it (I found swearing a lot helped).

Don't forget to use the extra long bolts supplied in the pack or you won't reach the captive bolt/plate.
PS - if it's any consolation, I posted a moan about it at the time -

In all honesty it was worth the hassle. Looks and feels a lot better in the new position. So overall... Worth it and t was a learning curve for me.
