Hi Groovers
I'm doing my first rebuild on a 1275. non S.
Could anyone have a look at the attached jpegs & tell me if the hole I have flagged up in red is meant to be there? Its at the timing end of the block. The end plate is not completely attached yet and the duplex timing gear is not attached- is there something between the end of the block & the end plate I have forgotten. I cant see anything in the moss or SC or minispares cats I have forgotten.
The timing gear and timing cover go onto this end- is this hole for oil to be thrown from by the oil thrower?
Sorry guys but I dont really know and dont want to norse it up.
cheers all
col

There is an oil restrictor fitted somewhere.

As long as you have fitted gasket between block and plate first and that hole is for oil to flood gears and chain to keep it lubbed........... :P
