Your car was originally fitted with static belts on the rear pillars. The parcel shelf isn't designed to take loads in a crash and should be strengthened if you're going to attach belts to it.Hi my problem lies with my seat belts im just about ready to get the car tested next week (as long as it passes it VIC on friday) but ive noticed the rear seat belts are the inertia type and they are bolted to the rear parcel shelf but i have threaded holes in the rear pillars as if they should be bolted there but as the inertia belts wont work on the rear pillars due to the angle have i got the wrong belts or are they in the correct place on the rear parcel shelf
Thanks Pete

Fair doo's, you have a point there.I can't see a problem or why it'd be an MOT fail, else how do harnesses get through?
