Hallo :)
Due to me losing my Ipod on a flight to malta, i am left with a choice of my rubbish fold up headphones which come apart because they are so damn rubbish. or the cruddy ipod headphones which i dont like to use unless nessesary. which is only usually at school really.
can some of you clued up lot reccomend me a set of headphones that dont cost a complete bomb, but are better than the usual tesco set.
im looking for a set for school (in ear ones)
and a set for home (the ones that go over your ears, not in them.. god knows what they are called!)
thanks
Jono.

Behringer DJ Headphones, good for all purposes, Mixing, Editing And Everyday listening, you look a bit weird with massive beefy headphones walking down Dartford highstreet, but its worth It :) The little buds fall out my ears because im a Tard ;)

I went through about 4-5 different sets of in-ear headphones in the sub £30 range when I was getting some to use at work. The problem I had was that the wire kept coming away from the earpiece or breaking internally. Have my current set for about a year now, I think they are Phillips and were about £20, though having had a quick look I think the design has changed slightly (SHE9500). Also had some Sony Fontopia's before that were really good.

How much is a bomb for headphones? If you are picky and want the best, I would say go for some Beyerdynamic ones. They are used throughout the industry and they are pretty much the only brand to use for monitoring at a high level. But the lowest model is about £70, which is cheap, and not at the same time...

As for ear buds, I have had my Sony ones for about 6 years, and I am a phantom ear bud breaker (they cost about £15 then so look at the £20 odd range now)

Bose on ear are excellent, expensive but well worth the money. Although I mostly wear them in the house as they mess up my hair :)

Play.com have a good choice - the reviews and star ratings help loads too.

Would recommend sennheiser ones though :)

I've just brought some WESC headphones, easily the best pair I've owned. The sound is amazing and I was surprised how much outside noise they block out, on the bus I can't hear anything else apart from my music. Really really clear and the bass is phenomenal, set me back about £50 inc. postage but worth it.

I've got the purple & blue ones, the headphone cord is a shoe string type material, pretty cool.

These are mine, not a very good picture though.

Like I said before, it all depends on what your willing to pay and what you consider value for money. I spent £60 on my headphones and rue that day as I should of spent £10 more on some beyer ones. My course tutor has been working in studios for the last 20 years and he says if your buying headphones, make them beyer. But then again, not everyone has at least £70 for headphones...

I had a pair of V Moda Vibe Duos, they were 70 quid, but they were excellent until one of them stopped working... Also had a pair of Sennheiser buds, I think they were something 300s? Anyway they were fantastic, now looking to buy a set of Sennheiser PXC 350s, because I can use them at home and on the bus  they are however a little pricey...
