Have some questions about the tuning kit 1.
I have a 998cc engine, and thinking of installing one of those kits.
Those who have it, is it any good? does it worth its price?
Also, i am aiming for a nice, not TOO loud, sporty exaust sound, is it any close to this description?
Any information is appriciated
Thanks in advance

I haven't used the mini sport kit, I basically made up my own consisting of:
AAU needle
Mini Spares inlet manifold
maniflow lcb exhaust manifold
RC-40 Centre section
Peco twin exit back box
It sounds great and at night i can be heard from a few streets away when i'm just on tick over! It's not that loud through the day, well it sounds better than the local corsa's!

Make sure you have it put on a rollin' road after to get it set up or it's not worth doing!
Hope this helps pal

edit: oh and it's not bad on fuel either!

But i dont know if the exhaust they give with the kit is that good. In the exhaust description i read this "...whilst creating the minimum noise level..."
Is what i am looking for?
I dont have much knowledge on those things

I have just fitted the Stage One Kit from MINISPORT. Its the one with the Side Exit Exhaust so that it fits exactly where the current one is. I had the rolling road done today ( definately needed ) and it goes like stink, a HUGE difference. DEFINATELY RECOMMENDED TO BRING LIFE BACK INTO YOUR MINI. Sound is nice and quiet when driving normal, just gives that lovely deep rumble and exhaust note when you stick your foot down, it actually gives you confidence in it.
It did state that the back box bracket needed a hole drilled into the rear subframe, but when I looked at it where the current bracket is, I was about to drill when I noticed the hole was already present ?!? I actually fitted all the kit then took it to a local exhaust fitter and he checked all the connections on his ramp for FREE. Nice Bloke !
( Remember to budget the cost of a rolling road in with whatever you order, as the different exhausts are all different prices )

Do minisport sell the RC40?
No - Minisport sell a cheap copy of the RC40.
Whatever you do don't buy the stage 1 kit from Minisport! The Minispares version is far better quality and much easier to fit, despite the fact it costs virtually the same.

A few people have said this - BUT, I got mine from MINISPORT for £160 ( using MINISAVE DISCOUNT CODE ) where MINISPARES is £200. My MINISPORT Kit fitted EASY, where the MINISPARES Kit STATES IN THE DISCRIPTION that the pipes need cutting to get the right length ??
Everyone has a different opinion, but in my mind the MINISPORT was cheaper and easier.

Fair enough, that's your opinion.
However when I bought my Stage 1 kit from Minisport, the pipes would not fit together properly. I ended up having to use a big hammer to force the pipes together - not ideal when you're lying under the car! Even after that I never got it to fit properly, it kept banging against the underside of the car no matter how much I tried to adjust the fitment. I got so fed up with it that aftter 6 months I ripped the whole lot off and got a Minispares one instead.
Comparing the two side by side, the Mini Spares one was visibly much better quality. The Minispares one fitted like a dream, and I've not had any problems with it since.
The Minispares one is actually £165, not £200

True the link pipe may need cutting, depending what combination of manilfold and back box you have. However this is an easy 30 second job with a hacksaw.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for 6 months ! ha. But, as change goes, my MOT runs out in 6 months so may change everything again then, so might just give MINISPARES a try !
